I am a business consultant as well as author of the in-house articles on topenterprise. My background includes a law degree and training in sales, marketing, IT and financial and management accounting.

I was a director of two small businesses before launching topenterprise in 2004. I have worked as a consultant with large companies and smaller enterprises across a wide range of sectors - manufacturing, retail, transportation, IT, financial services and telecoms.

My work has led me to engage with a wide variety of people and businesses, helping them to clarify their goals and develop successfully.

Business consulting

I founded a consultancy company 12 years ago and have worked with well known clients such as Sainsbury’s, Compaq, Network Rail, ntl and Vodafone, as well as start-ups and small businesses in many sectors.

My experience ranges from marketing strategy and business planning to product development, pricing and promotion, improving business processes and introducing better ways of working.

Small businesses and start-ups

Small businesses enjoy several advantages, but they have many disadvantages to overcome as well. There are 4.7 million small businesses in the UK and I am passionate about improving the quality of advice and support for people who run them.

I provide help and advice to many business owners, including start-ups and small enterprises in retail, biotechnology, data services, multi-media, e-commerce and other service sectors.

I have written articles for Business First, Business Network and other magazines and frequently present talks to business audiences on marketing-related subjects.
