Truck driver on kidnap charges
A truck driver was arrested for kidnap after trying to evade road tolls and save the equivalent of 70 pence for the boss of his firm.
Instead of paying at a toll booth in Zhejiang province, China, a 21 year old truck driver invited the female toll collector into his cab and then drove off at speed with her beside him, reports City Express.
Further down the road he repeated this tactic and drove off with a second toll collector aboard. Other staff raised the alarm and police arrived to give chase.
They finally caught the man 10 miles down the road and arrested him. He was taken into custody and faces charges, together with his boss who was also in the cab with him at the time.
