North East marketing firm sweeps the board at annual public relations awards

05 12 2008 United Kingdom

Cool Blue Brand Communications, a small marketing and design agency based in Middlesbrough, has scooped seven awards at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations 'Pride' awards

It comes as no surprise that marketing and PR businesses, large and small, make the most of promotional opportunities offered at regional and national award schemes. Cool Blue Brand Communications showed that size doesn’t matter when they took top awards in seven categories for North East Public Relations agencies recently.

Tanya Garland, managing director of Cool Blue, paid tribute to her team and their ability "to punch well above our weight". “The fact that we were short-listed in so many categories is testament to the breadth of our ability and the seven awards we won to the quality of our delivery,” she said.

“There were more than 300 entries from across the North East and we have proved again that we are one of the best of the best.”

Cool Blue Brand Communications Limited provide PR, branding, marketing and communications services including graphic design and websites for their corporate clients in the North East. They specialise in retail and lifestyle PR and marketing.

“We are known as a creative agency,” added Ms Garland, “but are also very results driven and achieve enviable outcomes for clients.”

The panel of judges for their Corporate Communications award said: “Cool Blue's solid campaign brought about impressive results.” In 12 months Cool Blue achieved the equivalent of £1 million in advertising for an outlay of £6,000, but even this return on their client’s investment won them only the Silver award.

Cool Blue won the Gold award in the Small Budget Campaign category, achieving ‘truly excellent results in their target media’. They won Silver for Best Use of Photography, working on a budget of £800 to produce creative and evocative images for a new fuel technology.

The Silver awards won by Cool Blue also included Best Leaflet, Crisis Management, for managing the coverage of a court case, and best use of Design. Their second Gold was awarded for Best Website.

Earlier this year Cool Blue won the Tees Valley ‘Service Business of the Year’ title in the North East Business Awards and Ms Garland has embarked on ambitious expansion plans for her business.
