Ever wanted to do a quick sum while you are in the middle of a Word document?
Do a VAT calculation perhaps?
Or work out an annual figure from the weekly amount or an hourly rate?

Here's how you do it -
First you just need to set up 'Tools Calculate' from the Customize options
- On the Word menu bar, choose Tools - Customize
- The Customize window shows a list of Categories: click on 'Tools'
- Move the right-hand slider down: you will find 'Tools Calculate' towards the end of the list
- Click on 'Tools Calculate' and drag with your mouse to the position on the Icon bar where you want to locate this new command
- Then click 'Close'.
Now you are ready to do a calculation
1. Type the equation into the Word document, e.g. 4.75*35*52
2. Click and drag to select the whole equation
3. Click on 'Tools Calculate' on your Icon bar
4. The result of your equation is displayed on the bar at the foot of the document window.
Or try 799*.175 to calculate the VAT. Just repeat steps 1. to 4.
Now why didn't I find that out before!
