For years I used Yahoo! for Internet searches and then I switched to Google. ‘Dogpile’ has been around for nearly eight years and now it’s one of the top search engines around.

Dogpile is different because it searches many of the Internet's top search engines for you, simultaneously - including Google, Yahoo!, Ask Jeeves, About, Teoma, FindWhat and LookSmart.

Dogpile is what is known as a ‘metacrawler’ and it displays the top ten results from each search engine individually. You can customize this list and see clearly which results were purchased by advertisers on those search engines and which ones are ‘genuine’ search results.

It also has a powerful suggestion tool that can group results for you into narrower, more helpful categories, so that you can easily find what is really relevant.

Dogpile was winner of the Best Meta Search Engine award from Search Engine Watch for 2003 and is one of the most popular search engines of its type.

It is also well known for its mascot, Arfie the Dalmatian - Go fetch!
